Brooklyn Vegan brings word that the first David Byrne-curated "Perspectives" concert at Carnegie Hall to be announced will be a triple bill featuring new music band Alarm Will Sound, Sufi-inspired singer Haale, and quirky live-looping vocalist (and Nouvelle Vague associate) Camille. Of course, I'm insanely curious as to what repertoire AWS will bring to this show.
Keep an eye on David Byrne's blog for possible hints of things to come in this series. (As BV notes, Byrne blogged about Camille's Joe's Pub hit last month.)
In other David Byrne news, he will be making an ultra-rare solo acoustic appearance at the Aug 23 Revenge of the Book Eaters benefit for 826 NYC, alongside such notable hacks as Jon Stewart, Sufjan Stevens, Dave Eggers, Sarah Vowell, John Roderick, and John Hodgman. Tickets on sale today (Thursday) at noon.
