Clapping Music is also nice in 3/2. I've also tried teaching it using Solkattu, giving it yet another feel. The piece that keeps on giving. Too bad the score is like twenty bucks. =)

Are we to read anything into 4 of the 7 pieces you chose for listening having Spanish roots? Just wondering...

Well, I feel Guarana's "Spanish tinge" pretty much begins and ends with the title...

Beyond that, though, it seems undeniable that the Argentinian-born composers on the list (Guillermo Klein and Pedro Giraudo) are bringing a tremendous amount of rhythmic vitality and sophistication to large-ensemble writing, and it's no accident that writers like Maria (and yrs truly) find ourselves drawing upon some of the same sources.
